Overview
Shopify is the foundation for most Hazel customers. It’s usually the first integration people connect — and for good reason. Your Shopify data powers revenue analysis, customer insights, product performance, and much more. What Hazel pulls
Once you connect Shopify, Hazel has access to:- Orders — every order, including line items, discounts applied, and order status
- Customers — customer profiles, order history, and lifetime value
- Products & variants — your full product catalog with pricing, inventory, and variant details
- Fulfillments — shipping and delivery status for every order
- Refunds & returns — refund amounts, reasons, and which products get returned most
- Discounts — discount codes and automatic discounts, including usage and revenue impact
- Metafields — any custom data you’ve added to orders, products, or customers
- Tags — customer, order, and product tags you’ve set up in Shopify
How to connect
Install the Hazel Shopify app directly from the Shopify App Store. You’ll be redirected to your Shopify admin to approve the connection — click Install to authorize Hazel. Once installed, Hazel starts pulling in your historical data automatically. Hazel handles all data cleaning and setup — no manual configuration needed.Multiple stores? Each Shopify store needs its own app install. Install the Hazel Shopify app on each store separately.
Example questions you can ask
Once your Shopify data is connected, try questions like these:- “What was our revenue last month?”
- “Show me our top 10 products by units sold”
- “What’s our average order value trend over the last 90 days?”
- “Which products have the highest return rate?”
- “Compare new vs returning customer revenue this quarter”
- “What’s our repeat purchase rate?”
- “How many orders used a discount code last month, and what was the average discount?”
- “Show me revenue by day for the last 30 days”
Good to know
Hazel syncs your full order history — not just recent data. That means you can ask about trends over months or even years.
- Your data refreshes every 4 hours automatically.
- Hazel supports multiple Shopify stores. Connect each one separately and ask about them individually or together.
- Shopify data pairs beautifully with your ad platforms. Connect Meta Ads or Google Ads to see true ROAS against actual Shopify revenue.
- Customer counts may differ from Shopify — Hazel performs identity resolution to deduplicate customers (e.g., a guest checkout and a registered account with the same email are counted as one customer). This gives you more accurate unique customer counts, but the number may be lower than what Shopify shows.
