Connect in under a minute

Adding a new data source to Hazel is quick. Here’s how:
1

Open the Marketplace

Go to Integrations > Marketplace in the side nav. You’ll see all available data sources organized by category.
2

Find your integration

Search by name or browse by category (Marketing, Sales, Finance, Support, Reviews).
3

Click the + button and authorize

Click the + button next to the integration and follow the prompts — either sign in through the platform (OAuth) or paste an API key. It takes about 30 seconds.
4

Wait for your data

Hazel starts pulling in your historical data right away. After connecting, Hazel handles all data cleaning and setup — no manual configuration needed. The initial backfill can take a few hours to a few days depending on the source’s rate limits and data volume. You can start asking questions about recent data almost immediately.

OAuth vs API key

There are two ways integrations authenticate:
  • OAuth — You click the + button and sign in through the platform’s own login screen (like signing in to Meta or Google). This is the most common method and the easiest. You don’t need to copy or paste anything.
  • API key — Some platforms use API keys instead. You’ll copy a key from that platform’s settings and paste it into Hazel. We’ll walk you through exactly where to find it.
Both methods are secure. Hazel only requests the permissions it needs to read your data.
Not sure which auth type your integration uses? Just click the + button — Hazel will guide you through the right flow automatically.

Troubleshooting

First, check that your integration shows as Connected in Integrations > Connections in the side nav. If it says “Error” or “Disconnected,” try disconnecting and reconnecting. Some common causes: your password changed, your API key was rotated, or permissions were revoked on the platform’s side.
Initial backfills can take a few hours to a few days, especially for platforms with a lot of historical data (like Shopify or Amazon). If it’s been more than a few days and you still don’t see data, reach out via your shared Slack channel.
Hazel supports multiple Shopify stores. Each store needs its own app install — install the Hazel Shopify app on each store separately. When you ask questions, Hazel will know which store the data comes from, and you can ask about them individually or together.
Yes. Go to Integrations > Connections in the side nav, find the connected source, and disconnect it. Your historical data will be removed. You can always reconnect later and Hazel will backfill again.
