Sell-through & velocity

“What’s the sell-through rate for our top 50 products? Calculate the time between first and last sale divided by units sold to show sales velocity.”
“Which products sold out the fastest in the last 6 months? Rank by sales velocity.”
“Which products are selling slowly and still have significant inventory? Flag anything that’s been in stock for 90+ days with low velocity.”

Pricing analysis

“How does our average selling price compare across product categories? Show the trend over the last 12 months.”
“Which products have we discounted the most? Show the average discount percentage by product.”
“Identify products where the median selling price is significantly lower than the maximum selling price — this might indicate heavy promotional pricing.”

Pricing recommendations

“For our top-selling products, analyze whether demand changes significantly at different price points. If a product sells out quickly, recommend whether we could increase the price.”
“Make pricing recommendations for our top 25 products. For each, suggest a conservative, median, and aggressive price point based on historical sales velocity and demand.”
“Which products could we raise prices on without significantly impacting demand? Look for items with consistently fast sell-through even at higher price points.”

Discount impact

“What’s the impact of our promotional periods on customer return rates? Do customers acquired during deep discounts come back at the same rate?”
“How much revenue are we leaving on the table from over-discounting? Compare full-price vs discounted order volume and margins.”
Exclude doorbuster pricing from your analysis. If you run periodic deep-discount events where prices drop to near cost, tell Hazel to exclude those in your prompt (e.g., “exclude any sale price more than 30% below the median price”). You can also add this rule to Memory so it applies automatically.
